Paris: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of BOC attended a reception organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) for delegations participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics
The event was attended by sports officials and representatives from the countries participating in the Olympic Games.
On this occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid emphasised the importance of these events, which reflects Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening global relations.
HH Shaikh Khalid expressed his delight in hosting the delegations participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics. HH wished all athletes success in their competitions.
HH Shaikh Khalid expressed his pride in Bahrain’s participation in the Olympics and underscored the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to advancing Bahrain’s position in global sporting arenas. HH also highlighted Bahrain’s unwavering support for the sports sector and its athletes.
HH Shaikh Khalid further emphasised the importance of utilising this opportunity to strengthen sports cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise with the participating countries. HH expressed his best wishes for the successful participation of all countries in the Olympic Games.
On his part, Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary General of BOC delivered a speech expressing his pride in the Kingdom’s historic achievement of securing its first gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics through the outstanding performance of runner Winfred Yavi. He attributed this victory to the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the continuous follow up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Al Kooheji commended the ongoing support of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM’s Representative for Humanitarian and Youth Affairs and Chairman of SCYS, as well as HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of SCYS, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of BOC.
Al Kooheji also emphasised Bahrain’s readiness to participate in the women’s 400 metres, marathon, wrestling, and weightlifting competitions.
